Salina Suri

I am a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto completing my degree with a specialization in History. I am extremely excited to be involved with University of Toronto Outdoors- I have been passionate about outdoor experiential learning since the first Adventurous Journey I completed for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Since then, I've worked as a swim instructor and lifeguard with children from varying abilities and situations; from inner city refugees to a summer camp in Algonquin Park.  I've seen first-hand how being outside and connecting with our environment challenges and educates. In addition to my involvement with UTO, I was recently in India conducting research for an independent project at U of T, interested in pre-union organization in garment factories in Bangalore. I love doing almost every sport that involves water (including Brigantine sailing and dragon boating), and I also lead outdoor trips as an Executive Member of the U of T Duke of Edinburgh Award club.
